I'm always open to weird food combinations - even when I was young I would fry omelettes with banana and other kinds of fruit, or pancakes with ham or sausage or whatever was easy to cook with. (But only when my parents were away.)
I stepped into Nine-Thirty at Katong hungry and a little frustrated after a really long and expensive visit at Annie Tiang TCM (wish I could show you guys the 'salami' marks on my back now). I wanted a soup and a salad, so I skimmed through the menu, and this "pork belly with watermelon salad" caught my eye...
It was very tasty! I really liked how the juices from the watermelon and the pork were mixed together in my mouth. The pork belly was really fatty though, the amount of fat I sliced out were as much as 3 big cubes of the watermelon I think. And it will definitely be better if it was ROAST pork belly *drool*
Anyway, I decided that I should start taking some cooking/culinary classes this year, start from some basics first - anyone keen on joining me?
